CAMH Media Opportunity

by dramawayadmin

My name is Yasmin Muñoz, I work with CAMH (the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health) and I have a media opportunity available.

We run a project that wants to help make it easier for Doctors, Nurses and other Health Care professionals to take care of patients with developmental disabilities. Part of this project involves making posters to help doctors see the different types of patients they would meet in the emergency room or in doctor’s offices. This project is called DD CARES and if you’d like more information you can visit

These posters would have your names, photos, a little story about you and a quote about how you feel about going to the doctor or hospital. It can also be about what you feel about health in general. This is also optional and you may choose to not have any of your personal information on the poster, just your photo.

The photos would be taken by myself and a volunteer photographer who is generously donating her time to the project. The photos would be taken at CAMH on a weekday in mid September, which is still to be determined. The most likely time is late afternoon/early evening. Refreshments will be provided.

The posters would be posted in a few hospitals (including Sunnybrook, St. Mikes, Thunderbay Hospital) and on the CAMH website. I’m attaching some of our previous posters for your review and interested parties can contact. If under 18, parent/guardian consent is required so you can talk this over with your parents/guardians before you agree to do this. It is important to note that posters will not be distributed unless your consent is given and unless you are happy with the final result.
