Bio for Alysha Hunsberger
If you wanted to describe Alysha Hunsberger in one word, that word would be ‘dramatic’! Alysha has been singing, dancing and acting for as long as anyone close to her remembers. As a child she had a ‘costume closet’ which was raided daily for outfits to make everyday chores more entertaining.
At a young age Alysha took her love of the arts and studied dance at Center Stage Dance Studio, as well as music and drama at the Beckett School for the Arts in Waterloo Region. She then ventured to the big city to study Theatre Performance at George Brown Collage, eventually deciding to stretch her sea legs and move to Halifax NS. While on the east coast she studied family studies and gerontology as well as cultural studies at Mount Saint Vincent’s University.
Recently she had the honour of working with SNAFU Theatre as the Stage Manager for ‘Snack Music’ as a part of the Next Stage Theatre Festival hosted by the Toronto Fringe at Factory Theatre. In 2014 she was the Stage Manager for the premier of Rebbeca Babcocks play ‘Stage Left’ at the BusStop Theatre in Halifax NS. And in 2013 Performed as Buffy Sommers in Saints Alive theaters’ award winning production of ‘Once More With Feeling’ for the Atlantic Fringe Festival.
Alysha is excited to be joining the enthusiastic and passionate team at DramaWay! She believes in the power of the arts to build community, bridge cultural gaps and to educate, and those are only a few of the cool things she sees happening during her DramaWay classes
