ExpressionWorks Update

It was lovely to have our wonderful Susan Anderson with us during our Arts hour of our class last week. The culinary class was a success. The hummus was extremely tasty.  There was vegetables to eat with it and pita bread which turned out well. Joanna helped with plating the vegetables and finding things in the kitchen if someone needed it. At the end of class everyone sang Happy Birthday to Susan and gave her a card. It was a delightful evening.

ExpressionWorks Update – Nov 21/2017

Last week was great as we had two former ExpressionWorks friends back in action with us…. Alanna Balicki and Jordan Power. Alanna was delighted to see some of our old friends and meet new friends as well.  Everyone had a go at leading Stretches. News was engaging and everyone loved sharing updates and practise communicating.
The last hour included multi arts where participants loved our Clown Workshop were encouraged to draw a picture of their clown’s birth place and then talked about it in front of the group.

DramaWay – ExpressionWorks update!

Hello Everyone
ExpressionWorks has been going well.
We have been delighted to have our volunteers back such as Susan Anderson, Jan Fine, Liz McEachern and Sam Webster come. Our volunteers aren’t always able to attend, but when they do , it’s wonderful.
Last two weeks the group enjoyed taking part in Radio, where the participants learned vocal exercises and performed in pairs short dialogues with one person giving the sound effects.
Prior to our Radio sessions, was our Shakespeare theme and Halloween. We were so excited to see that everyone arrived in costume and during communication circle we did a lot of tongue twisters related to Halloween. During our Shakespeare Explorations, the whole group enacted Macbeth together. It was a fun night!
The first two weeks in October we had dance and movement where our participants combined a body part with an action. Before that everyone went around the circle and mentioned one thing they like to do as well they stated and mentioned one thing that makes them happy and how they take care of themselves in terms of relaxation.
The next two weeks, we are eager to have our dearest Alanna Balicki returning to do clowning. We know everyone will be super excited to see her. I’m sure it would make her day if those of you who know her were to arrive with a card or something you’ve made for her. She’s so happy to be able to return and visit everyone.

RhythmWorks West Update

You may already know Brooke has been doing a contemporary routine to Bang Bang by Nancy Sinatra. We may be doing a Film Noir theme come the New Year, but we’ll keep you updated.  Our Contemporary routine is going very well.  Again a reminder to let us know if there is a week you’ll be away, as it affects the choreo.

Looking forward to seeing how it all works out.  And don’t forget to save the date June 9th for your RhythmWorks West showcase at Swansea Town Hall. Details to follow in the New Year.

Classes back in action!

Our programs are back in action once again. We will keep you all updated as the Term progresses. Stay up to date by checking in with this Blog weekly if you can.

We have already posted some videos on Facebook, for our DramaWorks performers.

We have not yet posted any RhythmWorks tutorials as we are still developing choreo in class.

Reminder for all other programs to bring a bottle of water weekly to stay hydrated.

We have been enjoying being back with our Performers.

We are now in the audition process for the next while. Exploring and creating once again with our performers.

This year our work/production has been inspired by the Performing Arts! We are currently developing and exploring with dance, drama, and singing all in one. It’s been a blast developing different rhythms and working on some choroegraphy thus far.

We loved hearing everyone’s news from their summer and introducing a few of our new Performers to the Gang. Looking forward forward to more creativity this term.
