Artists with Disabilities – Invitation!

Hello Friends,

We are sharing this on behalf of our volunteer  & Support Staff Zoe Stark.

She recently become acquainted with a wonderful organization that is holding an event in Toronto in May. They have asked her to help them find artists to round out their collection in order to represent different demographics and communities. She is reaching out to DramaWay in hopes that some of our Artists or someone that you are in contact with, knows of any artists with a disability who would like to get their art out and seen, and also make a little cash!

If you are interested, please, please e-mail Zoe as soon as possible (they are in a bit of a time-crunch), even more preferable email her and attach a picture of an art piece/pieces the Artist has created and is willing to sell.

A bit about Time Raiser:

“Timeraiser150 is a Canada 150 Signature Project supporting emerging Canadian artists and nonprofit organizations.  10 Timeraiser150 parties in 10 provinces allow Canadians to bid on original art by investing volunteer time, not dollars, to causes they care about.  Each Timeraiser150 pulls out all the stops to throw a great party – from live performances to delicious local food and drink. Timeraiser is truly a celebration of creativity and community! Artists are paid for their work, nonprofits find skilled volunteers, Canadians find meaningful volunteer opportunities.

This is a pretty fabulous opportunity that we are happy to share. Please feel free to pass this e-mail along to anyone who may be able to help!

It’s that time of year again folks.

The Holiday Season is a time when most like to give back to the community. Please consider putting some of that good cheer and generosity to a project close to home!

My company @DramaWay has launched our yearly @Indiegogo campaign. Funds raised will go towards our many costs for our upcoming Showcase/production which will feature over 100 performers of #AllAbilities. Any little bit you can donate will help us tremendously. It only takes a minute to watch our campaign video and hear from our #performers themselves.

As our performers say “when you donate – we create”.

Special mention to the talented @AdinaIsaacs for the coordinating, filming of this footage and helping with the technical aspects of this campaign.

Additional Shout out to @AlyshaMae and @YankoYankov & @MilaShu for additional footage and support.
@OrinIsaacs for music support

We credit all of our wonderful performers for supporting and helping to make this their campaign with their own words!

Thanks to all who help us spread the word. For those who live out of town or can’t attend our showcase this is perfect way to show your support. I encourage everyone to share even if you can’t donate …maybe someone you know can!

Thanks and Happy Holidays from our DramaWay family to yours.

Evening Programs – Summer of 2016

Our 2016 Summer Nights Evening Programming is geared and modified for youth and adults with special needs of ALL abilities. This program is an extension of our year round evening creative arts programming and has been offered since 1999. This year the program will be held at two convenient TTC accessible locations (1) Summerhill & Yonge; Community Living Toronto @ 30 Birch Avenue; Downtown and (2) Ellesmere & McCowan; 1712 Ellesmere Road; Community Living Scarborough.

Tuesday Night ShakespeareWorks Camp exposes participants to the world of theatre and dance inspired by the work of Shakespeare. The group will work towards showcasing a small piece on the final camp date for family and friends. This program runs on Tuesday evenings for eight weeks.

MultiArtWorks Evening Camp spans the realm of fine arts while engaging participants in the three disciplines of drama, dance and visual arts. A small open class showcase is planned to take place on the final camp date for family and friends. This program will run for eight weeks at two locations:

MULTIARTWORKS OPTION 1: Wednesday Evening Multi Arts Camp; 1712 Ellesmere Road

MULTIARTWORKS OPTION 2: Thursday Evening Multi Arts Camp; 30 Birch Avenue

Often campers are given the chance to meet with guest specialists in the arts when available. With a camper to staff ratio of 5:1, our programs are tailored to the individual strengths and abilities of each camper. Every aspect of our programming is designed to be process oriented and campers enjoy our non-competitive atmosphere. We make every effort to build communication skills and to further the development of social skills while also enhancing self-esteem. Register for all three evening programs and save over $100 or register for two evenings and save over $65. Campers also have the option of simply enrolling for just one evening camp if preferred.

DramaWay to appear on etalk CTV at 7 pm

Our DramaWay performers will be featured on CTV tonight on Etalk at 7 pm with the fabulous Jessi Cruickshank & Sam Forbes a.k.a “TheDancingBarista”!

Hope you can watch it if possible. We are delighted to be featured in this credible way. If you can record or DVR it, that is ideal.  We know many of us will in class sadly at the same time it airs, but the good thing is once it airs, it will be posted up on their website for a short time. Please try to watch if you can.
Looking forward to having such a great program share DramaWay with the world!
Kudos to Canadian Television.
Thanks again to our dear friend Jessi Cruickshank for making this happen.
